Incident: Issues Opening the Slack App on iOS

On September 3, 2025, between 3:00 PM and 5:40 PM PDT, some iOS users running Slack app version 25.09.10 saw a "Jailbroken devices can't use Slack" error message.A recently enabled toggle for jailbreak protection (which prevents apps from running on devices with removed software restrictions) unexpectedly introduced a backend check that incorrectly identified the installed iOS version. This caused some users' devices to be improperly flagged, preventing them from using or opening the app. We promptly rolled back the related feature toggle, restoring access for all affected users. We're working on improving this area of code to reduce the likelihood of this recurring.
