Incident: Search Failures

Starting around 8:30 AM PDT until around 9:18 AM PDT on October 15, 2025, some users may have experienced issues querying searches in Slack. Searching for messages, files, people, channels, and internal or external users were returning unexpected errors or failing. Some admin dashboards that relied on search functionality may have also experienced issues loading.A backend system responsible for processing search queries experienced a large influx of traffic, causing the spike in errors. We identified the problematic jobs and implemented steps to restart them, resolving the issue for all affected users.
