Germany has adopted the new Act for Critical Facilities (KRITIS Dachgesetz) (the Act) (available here, German only), which entered into force on March 17, 2026. It implements the Critical Entities Resilience Directive (EU) 2022/2557 (CER) and imposes requirements for physical resilience of facilities in strategic sectors against risks such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks or physical sabotage.
