Eurosystem's response to EC consultation on the competitiveness of the EU banking sector

The European Central Bank (ECB) has published its Governing Council's response to the European Commission's targeted consultation on the competitiveness of the EU banking sector. The response builds on the ECB's High-Level Task Force (HLTF) simplification proposals, endorsed by the ECB in December 2025.
