March 17, 2026 marked a significant compliance milestone for the automotive industry under the United States Department of Commerce’s “Securing the Information and Communications Technology and Services Supply Chain: Connected Vehicles” final rule. As of that date, vehicle software enabling vehicle connectivity or automated driving systems that is sold or installed in vehicles offered for sale in the US may no longer be “designed, developed, manufactured, or supplied” by Chinese or Russian...
