HHS Section 504 Final Rule: Digital Accessibility Deadlines Approaching in May 2026

On May 9, 2024, the Department of Health and Human Services (“HHS”) published a Final Rule (“the Rule”) updating Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (“Section 504”) regulations. As part of the Rule, every facility, program, or activity with 15 or more employees and receiving HHS funding will need to comply with new digital accessibility guidelines by May 11, 2026.
